Jewel A Rob wins Subir Choudhury Curatorial Practice Grant 2018

Jewel A Rob, Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Jewel A Rob is a practicing visual artist and an independent curator. He completed his M.F.A in Drawing and Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. Jewel’s preferred media ranges from drawing, painting, to video, image manipulation, photography, installation and performance. He has been known to depict issues relating to politics, genocide, and social and political movements into his work.

Jewel has exhibited his works in Bangladesh, Italy, India, Indonesia, Germany, Greece, Korea, Nepal, Taiwan and the United States. He has also worked on various community based projects with Britto Arts Trust, Crack International Art Camp, Imago Mundi, Bengal Foundation and SAF. Jewel presented his Performance in KIPAF16, HH Art space, NPAF17, Venice International Performance Art Week, EE, Asian Art Biennale, BPAW, Expedition Camp, and participated in a research project in Documenta-14 and Muenster Sculpture Project. Jewel has participated as Curator in a residency program at ACC, Korea.
